Moving as a Thought Process

Practice-based artistic research led collaboratively, as a trio, with Naomi Lefebvre Sell and Tara Silverthorn and mentored by Sarah Whatley, Professor of Dance and Director of the Centre for Dance Research (C-DaRE), Coventry University (UK), examining dance making within choreographic practices.
The process began in 2007 with the making of full length piece dharmakaya with a group of four dancers, as part of Lefebvre Sell’s Doctoral research. For years the work then filtered through our individual journeys as artists, teachers and practitioners, leading to different outputs such as a book chapter in Dance, Somatics and Spiritualities.
In 2015, Naomi, Tara & Lucille launched Moving as a Thought Process, funded by Arts Council England and supported by Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, comprising studio work phases punctuated by public events. It has been captured and distilled through multi modal outputs since.
